Got my woodburner in the mail this week and couldn't wait to try it out!  This is a piece of driftwood, about 2' long.  To attach it, I used eyehooks and a heavy twine rescued from a discarded cat toy, and looped it around a big tree.  It reads "Hemel" (heaven).  Third picture is a long view, but it's difficult to read.  When I'm finished with this area, it will be my "little slice of heaven."

Hi Julie!

I was reviewing the requirments, and I saw this:

To document your completion of the BB, provide the following:
- a link to the permies thread about your location
- pic of the sign hanging or posted at the location

Do you happen to have a link to a thread about Hemel?

Thanks!

Here is my submission for this BB. Here is the sign that I made. Here is the post that talks about the significance of the sign, location, and the broader story. And below is a picture of the branded spot.

While cleaning out a storage room for my local Cub Scout Pack, I discovered an electric wood burner, and some scrap wood, too!  I promptly made a sign of course for our "Kinder Garden" education plot.  You can read about this story of unexpected yields from composting and gardening over here on this thread.   You can also learn more about one of my workshops for this "Kinder Garden" over here.

My sign isn't as neat looking as I'd like, but that's okay, I'll get better with time and practice.  I also hope that by hanging up the sign on our garden fence, that others in the area will be inspired to "think vertically" and add their own public art, too.

I inverted a picture frame hook so I could hang it on the garden fence.

Last year I branded Ash's bench at Wheaton Labs, and this year I made another bench to go with it. I also mounted a nice motivational quote on the bench I made, because I've always liked benches with quotes on them. Here's the thread I made about it.

I branded my doghouse with a wood burned sign - the story of which is documented  in the permies thread titled R's Location Labelling Journey
