I made zoukin (Japanese style multi layer floor cloths) from a very old PJ top. I think I wore it through both pregnancies so the fabric was really stretched out and it also has big holes in one of the sleeves. Made it hard to get neat edges without wasting a lot, so I just roughly sewed through them on the sewing machine.
Old oversized shirt transforms into 25 napkins and a pile of rags!

"Each of us have a unique and necessary gift to the world. The purpose of life is to express our gifts. We are all here to contribute our gifts toward something greater than ourselves, and will never be content unless we are." - Charles Eisenstein
This might be a stretch... but, I turned this decrepit looking shirt into rags. My husband had gotten to it before me trying to make some masks out of it, back when they were a rarity (hah!). It's been a few months, so it is about time I turned the remains into rags.
I love wearing very well worn cotton t-shirts because they are so comfortable, to the point where they start getting holes around the shoulder area, but eventually they do become rags, especially if also stained like this one.
This one is going to be useful! Since I was little I never wanted to waste or throw anything away, so there are piles of old clothes at my parents still. What do with them? Bah, never knew! Starting with one shirt today, then will probably to a round to make rags for everyyyybody!
Everyone has such neat tools for cutting and sewing rags! When I have space and a sewing machine! Also interesting to see people using different shirts to create rags for different textures and purposes. Cool!
