This is a badge bit (
BB) that is part of the
PEP curriculum. Completing this BB is part of getting the sand badge in
Animal Care.
In this Badge Bit you will remove algae from a trout
pond in an appropriate manner.
I had some trouble finding articles I felt were acceptable for appropriate methods of removing algae from trout ponds.
So, in brief, what I think is a nice way to remove algae from a trout
pond is to remove it manually with either a rake or scoop net.
Here are some videos on one way of removing algae from a trout pond with a rake.
To complete this BB, the minimum requirements are:
- you must remove algae from a trout pond
To show you've completed this Badge Bit, you must:
- post a picture of the algae filled trout pond
- post a progress picture halfway through with you using a tool to remove algae
- post a finished picture showing the clean pond and the pile of algae removed
