One of the hinges on our toilet seat/lid recently broke. I removed the old seat, cleaned the area up and installed the new seat.

My "slow close" lid had failed and became a fast close lid.  Which kinda sucks.  No real way to repair it that I know of so I got a new one.  It's easy to change them out if you have good finger strength to undo the plastic nuts on the underside.

We had an adaptive seat in one of the bathrooms, but handles were becoming loose.  It was actually not needed any more, so the loose handles were a perfect excuse to replace it, clean it, tighten the handles, and leave it in the garage for future use.  Since we have a wiggly someone who is potty training in the house, I used tight locks instead of the regular ones.

The seat hadn't broken yet, but was getting progressively looser. It only needed tightened back up a few turns to effect repairs. The difference is a bit subtle visually, but you can feel the difference clearly while sitting.

Here is my submission for the Plumbing & Hot Water - Sand - Repair a Toilet Seat/Lid BB.

To document the completion of the BB, I have provided the following:
a <2-minute video of me doing these things:
 - a before picture of the problem toilet seat/lid
 - an in-progress shot of you repairing the toilet seat/lid (with stills of the bolts)
 - an after picture of the newly repaired toilet seat/lid

 - a description of the problem and how it was fixed

The toilet seat and lid combo was loose and disconcerting to sit on it.  It was not broken and did not need to be replaced.  Since the wiggle was hard to capture in a still photo I did a short video and added photos of the bolts that I tightened.

This toilet is at my dentist's office and the seat and lid combo was loose and disconcerting to sit on it.  It was not broken and did not need to be replaced.  The wiggle was hard to capture in a single still photo I got two shots showing how much movement was in the lid/seat before and after I tightened the bolts.
