This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the straw badge in tool care.

Chainsaws are a useful piece of equipment, and one of the most important forms of maintenance one can do is sharpen their chainsaw! To demonstrate you know how to sharpen a chainsaw, you'll be making a video for this BB explaining how to sharpen a chainsaw.

To get certified for this BB, post a 2-minute video that demonstrates the following:

 - show the difference between
      - quick field sharpening
      - thorough sharpening (including rakers)

Here is my submission for the Tool Care - Straw - Chainsaw Sharpening Video BB.

One thing more thing: field sharpening is sharpening only the cutting teeth of the saw chain.  Shop or thorough sharpening is sharpening the cutting teeth and shortening the depth gauge or rakers.

My favorite way to sharpen my saw chain is with the Stihl's 2 in 1 Filing Guide: A unique, easy-to-use filing system that sharpens your cutter and lowers your depth gauge (rakers) with a few simple strokes.

To document the completion of the BB, I have provided:
 - show the difference between
      - quick field sharpening
      - thorough sharpening (including rakers)

Wasn't sure how to post videos directly in the submission box but saw the few other submissions are uploaded to YouTube so I'll try that.

I am a little camera shy but I don't usually get stage fright so apologies for the shaky voice and stumbling over my words. Did my best to fit it with the two minute time limit!

Cheers all!

Note: I certify this BB complete.
