These are some of the cats at the property where we were staying in Puerto Rico that we helped take care of. Pics are of Tom (dad - one of them), Alice (mom), Lyra and Sandmin (calico/orange) babies of Alice at age 10 days, Rho (~ 2 weeks), then Lyra and Sandmin last week (9 months - they came home with us), and Casseopeia and her babies (6 weeks old). We fed them, made sure the kittens got their shots and (Lyra and Sandmin) were sterilized, and if the moms had issues with other males causing a rukus we'd step in and run those guys off.

Someone threw out their house cat. It proceeded to immediately have kittens on the porch despite still being a kitten herself. Then in the uncommon but not never event she apparently immediately went into heat because before the first set was weaned she had another litter two months later.

We started with two cats. Hundreds of kitties later, the local animal shelter probably has me on their hit list. That, or we have nourished an oversized population of local hawks! Anyways, these three mama cats all delivered the same week. They serrogated eachother's kittens, so I'm not sure who actually belonged to whom in the first place.  The calico cat, a first time mom, had a disastrous labor, dropping kittens, still in the caul, on the lawn, in the garden, and in the greenhouse. I tracked them all down, 7 of them! After finding her in a corner somewhere, I brought her all of them, and she cared for them well. I'm glad I was there!

We have two mama farm cats and one tom cat.    They keep our home and barns clear of mice.  They hunt the gardens and keep away the chipmunks and squirrels.

The mamas got pregnant at the same time and shared the kitten rearing.

Here are Wolf and Mama Cat.

The daddy cat is Dragon.

They eat Dynamite feed.  It is a high quality nutrient and mineral rich feed.

Here is Wolf with her newborns.

We had lots of variety in colors and temperament.  Some of the kittens love to be held and petted.  Others are hard to touch unless they are eating.

Here they are all grown up.
