This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEM curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the straw badge in Round Wood Woodworking.

Maybe we have a big log and we need to water some animals...  Let's make a log trough!

A basic roughed out version.

Dough bowls are made with similar methods. Since the previous video didn't show how to refine the interior, here's more.

Minimum requirements:
 - Holds at least 30 gallons of water
 - Minimal leakage

Provide proof of the following as pictures or video (<2 min):
- Your chunks of wood that you are starting with
- Progress about halfway through, with the hand tools you have decided to use for this
- List any power tools you used (Otis would love it if you only used hand tools)
- The final product holding 30 gallons of water
- The water level marked initially and 24 hours later showing less than 1/4" of water level drop

Popeye has his spinach. I have this tiny ad:
A rocket mass heater is the most sustainable way to heat a conventional home
