This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEM curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the Iron badge in Foraging.

For this BB, you will forage garden 1 mile of trail side!  This is very similar to the PEP Foraging BB so you might be able to get that one as well...

(source: Pinterest.com)

Minimum requirements:
  - 1 mile of trail side forage gardening
  - 1 living plant per 1 foot of trail on average (so more than 5000 plants)
  - Within 40 feet of the trail
  - At least twelve different species
  - Can be roadside, for rarely used dirt roads
  - The mile can be spread out between multiple stretches of trail
  - Harvest 5,000 calories each from six different species (can be from existing plants along the mile)
  - Show at least 10 fruit trees at least five feet tall (ones you planted from seed)
  - Harvest at least 50,000 calories total (can go towards the 1,600,000 calorie BB)
  - This can be done as an enhancement to the same mile of trail as the Wood level BB

Provide proof of the following:
  - Video of trail when introducing seed balls or planting, and a general idea of what edibles were there to start
  - Video of trail for several harvests and showing what plants made it
  - Show at least 10 fruit trees you planted from seed that are at least five feet tall
  - Show the weight of food harvested and describe the calories each represents

Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn. But if you read my tiny ad, I might change my mind.
