Here's my very first bb submission - I seem to keep doing chores, realizing they're a part of a pep thing, and kicking myself for not taking photos.

ANYWAYS.

I had a jar of this salad bowl mineral oil/beeswax on hand so that's what I used, when I run out I'll make my own from beeswax and coconut oil.

Note: Approved!  But we're changing the requirements to specify that the oils need to be edible and not made from petroleum.  Thanks for finding the loophole!

I used coconut oil, but now I'm thinking olive oil might be better in future due to the great distance the oil had to travel to get to Spain, where olive oil is plentiful. But I've heard olive oil can go rancid. Any one have any firsthand experience with olive oil going rancid? Maybe it's climate dependent, and may not occur in an arid climate? That's my only reservation about making the switch.

I ended up using olive oil, as that is what I had on hand, and oiled 3 wooden spoons, a cutting board, and 2 BBQ utensils.
