Summary
part 3 of a 3 part podcast
Paul continues his discussion with Steven and Clay.
They talk about the BEL:
Bootcamp Experience Log. This replaces the BRK. It has a fund which is added to by benefactors and donations and Paul's thinking about a fundraiser for it. Boots make posts on their log and when they hit 100 posts they can clime 10% of the pot. This helps boots to have funds for things they want which aren't provided for. Steven thinks BEL is a great scheme as it allows him to go into Missoula on a Saturday, and get
coffee and donuts in the café. Other boots like to go out for a fancy meal or even take everyone out for a meal. Steven says when he hits 700 posts he'll do that. Paul says BEL is easier to run than BRK was.
Steven talks about how, although the lifestyle is basic and rustic boots never lack for food, heat,
water and internet: although it's a basic lifestyle it doesn't lack comfort.
Paul talks about upcoming theme weeks, during which bootcamp will mostly do stuff that fits with the theme. There's harvest week, and rocket week coming up - Clay points out that if you rent a cabin for a week as a
sepper there's a
BB to be had for heating a house with an
RMH for a week. Other theme weeks include thanksgiving and christmas weeks.
Paul says people tend to ask what he needs right now to further the
world domination plan, and
the answer is more boots and seppers. More people can complete more projects. They talk about the standards that Paul lays down for bootcamp and Steven and Paul both agree that the standards ain't gonna change. Steven says if you want a lower standard, the whole of the rest of the world can supply that.
As more things get built there's likely to be a shift away from building to more soil and plant based activity. Paul is keen to increase the amount of
perennial plants.
