Cleaned the bathroom yesterday!  Most was done with a wet rag made from an old sock.  Used some baking powder in the sink and toilet, some homemade thieves spray (7.5ml thieves concentrate in 250ml water) in the toilet and a squirt of homemade vinegar spray for the mirror (water, vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, tea tree, eucalyptus and lemongrass oil.

Gave the bathroom a good cleaning this morning! Mostly, I used water and hand scrubbing with a cotton rag made from an old sock. This worked well for the vanity top, toilet, and floor. The sink, mirror, and especially the tub needed more than elbow grease, however. For the sink, I used baking soda for scrubbing, and in the tub I used a paste of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. On the mirror, I used vinegar.

I have to confess here, that I had no hope for a clean tub. It was original to the house (built in the 1920s) and badly needed refinishing. My husband bought a refinishing kit, worked hard on the prep, and for a few years it looked great. Then the new finish started to chip off. I used to use Bon Ami powder cleanser (no chlorine, perfume, or dyes) and that worked on the refinished part of the tub, but where the finish had chipped away, it looked permanently stained. Until I scrubbed it hard with the baking soda/H2O2 paste!

Bathtub after. I'm thrilled at how well the paste worked!

Cleaned a bathroom today! Just used water and some baking soda where needed. We are house-sitting for my sister in law and we are leaving tomorrow so that's why all the stuff is gone, it's all being packed up.

I’ve had my kids cleaning the bathroom for awhile, but I busted out my own elbow grease for a deep clean. 😂. I did start cleaning the tub before I took a picture, so only the dirty half is in the before shot. I only show the tub because we wipe down the shower walls after each use, so they never get dirty. :)

To clean the sink/counter, toilet, and floor, I used my own cleaner mix which is half water, half vinegar, a drop of biodegradable dish soap, and a few drops of lemon or orange essential oil. I also used some baking soda to help clean the inside of the toilet. I used water for the mirror. I used baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and a scrubby sponge to clean the tub.
