Note: Sorry John, you need a pic of the wood before it's a sign and the wood burning during the process.  And it has to be at least 5" tall and 18" wide.  But it's a great sign!

I was in the mood to make a little holiday decor for this BB, so I found this delightful little Krampus pattern.  The board I used was a scrap of of old 1"x12" lumber 14 inches long (larger than prescribed 5"x18").  I used Danish oil to finish it which, as I understand it (from searching the ingredients on the internet), is a mixture of linseed oil and tung oil.  A small hole is drilled on the upper back at a slight angle so that the sign can hang from a nail seasonally.  Thank you, and enjoy!

I made a new sign, for kitchen chores. I used an off-cut piece of wood that's way bigger than 18 inches. I burned it with this tiny electric wood burner. I oiled it with this walnut oil. I used little hooks on the bottom to hand rotating name cards from. I used a little metal picture-hanger to support it on the wall. It's hanging in my dinning room.

I noticed that the Red Cabin didn’t have a sign, so I solved that problem. I know it’s kinda obvious but it’s a lot to take in when you first arrive to Wheaton Labs. With all the bikes around, you might think it was the red bike shed.

I have been asked if it was the shower shack more than once.

This was an interesting project. The wood was bigger when I started, and the final product should have read 'The Kelly Family,' In the process of finishing up 'The,' my burning tip decided to bend and break, and it dropped on the wood, messing up 'The.' This was a new woodburner, so needless to say I was 'steamed.' To salvage the project,
I sawed off the damaged area and other parts to try to even it all out. It turned out okay, and my wife was pleased with the outcome.

To complete this BB, the minimum requirements are:
- At least 5" tall by 18" wide
- Some means of hanging or posting the sign
- No treated wood
- Lettering and images are burned
- Must finish with tung oil or linseed oil (or else the burned image disappears)

To document your completion of the BB, provide pics or video (<2 min) of the following:
- The wood and your burning tools
- The sign getting burned
- The sign getting oiled (showing type of oil)
- The sign meeting the minimum size
- The sign hanging or posted

Clarifications:
- No plywood, OSB or particle board - use dimensional lumber

I had some fun with this BB. I had some leftover cedar from a gate project so I decided to make a sign. I used a fine chisel and carved in the letters a little bit to try and make them pop. I learned a lot just by using the chisels on how the wood reacts. I then followed this by burning and sealing with boiled linseed oil.

Do I have enough badge bits to qualify for a badge under 'dimensional lumber?'

The sign is 24" x 5.5", from a 1 x 6 left over from my open-top tool box BB project. You can tell, I think, but the GoPro software cut out where I showed the dimensions with a measuring stick.

This sign is now on the Wabash River Trail at an actual turtle crossing.
