Live cedar that needed to be removed. All my cedars have cedar apple rust.  This one is about 50 feet from my food forest.

This may have gone a bit smoother if I sharpened the bow saw first. If I did, it most likely would have taken longer to do that and cut this tree than the energy put into cutting it.
This was during the PEP event so we were all trying to get our BB's. If I looked ahead I would have realized that sharpening is part of a straw badge so I could have gone for a potential twofer. Maybe next time...

Interesting tool that bar. I do something similar using a power puller and a hefty length of chain. Cinch the chain about 10' up the tree. lead to another tree down range and attach tackle to it. Pay out the cable thru the block and to the chain. Other end cinched to base of tree. 6-7 pulls once taught can really put some pull on the tree. Then I proceed with the back cut.

Kudos for doing it by hand. The badge is well deserved cuz its a lot of work.
