This is a dogwood, right? There are several of these along the island's South side.

The climber 20170819_151013 is a clematis, an ornamental flower. Big wide flat elegant colorful flowers, mostly in colors like blue, purple, pink or white. Perennial, very hardy, very deep roots. I like clematis.

20170819_150931 is indeed rhododendron.

Works at a residential alternative high school in the Himalayas SECMOL.org . "Back home" is Cape Cod, E Coast USA.

The one you tagged as "interesting leaf shape" is a box elder or Chinese elm. It's changed names over time and is often mistaken for poison ivy as the young plants are very similar. It is the red-headed step child of the maple family.

I think the "dogwood" may be walnut or other Juglans species. Need a closeup of a leaf and the trunk to be sure. Not sure. Dogwoods don't grow very well here. Haven't seen one up close in years.

In the future, asking about one plant at a time with several pictures showing different parts of the plant would make ID easier.

20170819_144841.jpg is weigela too.  In "weigela I presume" the one in the middle with weird two-lobed leaves is Liriodendron (aka Tulip poplar it seems!) but the darker leaves round it I think is weigela, by the look of it the variety described on the label as "wine and roses".  The which the label says is rhododendron yes is rhododendron.

Yellow flower looks like Rudbeckia hirta. Second set of photos the first plant is a Rhododendron, next is clematis, last is Weigelia. In another set is a Boxelder, then an Ash tree and then a burning bush. Last pic in the last set is a Hibiscus.

The one with the red leaves is definitely burning bush.  You can tell by the weird square-ish stems.  They are everywhere here.  Beautiful in the fall.

The one tagged "dogwood" might be sumac ... hard to tell from the pics.

yeah the one tagged dogwood, isnt dogwood. not sure but it is very similar to walnut, or other nut.
then again sumac is also a good guess...

last one is hibiscus, and above that maybe wild lettuce?
or maybe its one of the many not dandelions, i like to call them. theres a lot of similar -but not -dandelion flower type plants.
some of the others have already been said...

The one second from the bottom looks like one of the species of Sow's Thistle

The third picture does not look like dogwood to me, more like black walnut to me.

I wonder how far the roots spread. These are planted about 30 ft away from the house on the Southern side.

The weigela has both the tulip poplar and what was identified as ash growing through it.

I also see lots of seedling box elder around. I think this might be a stash spot for squirrels or chipmunks.

What it is is an island of mulch in middle of a gravel circular drive. The space is right now dominated by an overgrown wisteria that I'm thinking of eradicating.

This pot is growing near the front door. The green leaves on the bottom are yellow clover, right?

This is another edge plant, seen on the sides of the driveway, at the woodline, and in a forest clearing.

Yeah, where I saw the big patch of rudbeckia is definitely a trail, and it leads to a small clearing. This part of the property seems like a good spot for a zone 2/3 food forest.
