This post is a little old to respond to but I just wandered on to it today. I have been interested in hickory's for a long time and that in it's self is a long story. A few years ago up in Park County Indiana I found a large hickory that produced lots of nuts with a thin shell like an English Walnut, easy to crack and remove the nut intact. I thought some one should be propagating this nut. At the time I was 70 now I'm 82 but I can't forget that nut. Larry Stinson
