The only reference that I could find with a Google images search, that wasn't "Lincoln logs" (and predominately the toy), was a double notch. There's a related "square tenon joint" which lacks the round extension beyond the corner.
Other notch names were much more descriptive of specific notches: saddle notch (half- round cutout), V-notch (a V-shaped cutout)(also A&V joint, describing both mates), dovetail notch, etc...
Which makes me think that "square notch joint" might also be apt? since the surfaces of the joint are at least orthagonal. One version might truly be square notches (for expediency or mating to milled timber), while other versions might have angled or coped shoulders.
It's a bit ambiguous, but since the others have such specific names, maybe it's fine.
Maybe it could also be a "quarter-lap" or "double quarter-lap" since the removal of half the material is divided over both faces? (in contrast to a half-lap where it is removed from one side or the other)
