Did You Know...
An "inert" ingredient used in Roundup products is more toxic to three types of human cells than the active Roundup ingredient used to kill weeds.
A new study on human embryonic cells, placental cells and umbilical cord cells found that the inert ingredient POEA caused more damage than Roundup's "active ingredient," glyphosate.
Cell damage occurred even when cells were exposed to small amounts of POEA - amounts much more diluted than what is used on farms.
Studies like this raise questions about how pesticides are assessed for safety.
Most testing for toxic effects of pesticides only examines the active ingredient, the one that does the killing, and not inert ingredients.
In the case of POEA, the EPA has concluded it is not dangerous to health and it is allowed in products that may be used by organic farmers.

I find this interesting..do you know if these inert ingredients stay harmful in the soil, bind with the plants and become part of the food, or if they are only harmful in the spray as it is being put on or wet?
