Hello folks! I'm looking for productive wildflowers and grasses that produce more edible seeds for birds and other wildlife besides sunflowers, Black Eye Susan, purple coneflower, bluestem, Indian grass, switch grass, goldenrod and thistle. Are there some that will last into the winter to
feed resident birds and creatures? And has anybody grown a seed head garden for birds and other creatures? Could we throw mullen to the mix since it's good for woodpeckers and sparrows even though it's a non
native plant? If there are anymore wildflowers and grasses that are native to the American Great Lakes and produce edible seed heads for birds and other creatures, then please let me know. Adios!
