NABCEP stands for the north american board of certified
energy practitioners. They are the only organization who certify renewable energy professionals. All trades have some organization who offer certifications. This is what professionals use to set themselves apart from their contemporaries. Certifications show that the certificate holder has proven (by a third party) that they know what they are talking about and know how to do their trade. A good certification is hard to get. That is what makes it special and what sets the certificate holder apart from the rest. When a home owner or business owner is looking for a professional to do work for them, they often look for someone who will do a good job. While having a certificate does not ensure that you will get a good job, the chances are very good that you will.
