Finding a fresh Giant Puffball is always a thrill. Here's a story  from the Good News Network about a lucky forager who found one recently in the UK and then fed her  family for a week:

Puffballs are good to eat, but always be sure they are still all white inside and don't have any brown spores developing. On the smaller puffballs, also slice each one in half to make sure that they're not the "egg" stage of an amanita or similar species. Puffballs also make a great tofu substitute or as seen in the article, pizza dough.
