Hello everyone!

I have been self-studying permaculture for several years now. My particular interests lie in building/permatecture, energy systems, economics, and in social systems/leadership, but it's all of interest to me.

My wife and I, when we got married last year, legally changed our names to "EarthSoul" to reflect our Earth-centered spiritual values. We are educating ourselves and working toward building a sustainable earth-centered ecovillage of people practicing our shared spiritual path.

Permaculture is a major aspect of what we are doing-- permeating through nearly everything.

Regards,

Howdy Kevin, welcome to permies!
Tell us more about some of the permies stuff that you have done. Any pictures of your projects?
Where are you thinking of starting your community?

Hi Miles... the last few years I have been digging myself out of a prolonged period of unemployment. My recent marriage has allowed both of us to return to school. I am studying Organizational Leadership at Fort Hays State University (Virtual College), while my wife is seeking her Masters of Counseling at Doane College in Nebraska.

I have always loved physics, however, and was briefly a physics major in college years ago. I am still a "paper permaculturalist", lacking the land to do anything myself. We have just befriended some folks who are eager to do some projects, however, who already own significant agricultural acreage in Western Iowa (about an hour away). We plan to do some small test projects in the coming year.

Eventually, we feel we'd be better off starting our community in the Pacific Northwest (our first choice), or a little further South in Missouri. We certainly don't want to do it in Nebraska, where the mindset is fairly rigidly conventional.
