Hello everyone!

My wife and I are enthusiastic about (but newbies to) permaculture.
We have been learning and prepping for the last 5 years, but most of that has been theory with little hands on.
We grew up in the country in Northeast Ohio and just moved to Austin this past May to get away from the cold and snow.

We have spent the last several months living in an apartment while acclimating a bit to the area and adjusting to life with our beautiful 11 month old daughter, but our hearts are crying out for land and freedom to grow and experiment so we have now begun searching for a place to build our homestead around Austin.

These forums are so full of knowledge and we are excited to connect with other like-minded folks!

Welcome to permies Nathan.

This site is truly a great source for researching, and sharing the knowledge.
Both the Southwest USA forum (in 'Regional') and Greening the Desert (in 'Growies') should have a lot of good info that would be applicable to your area.

Good luck in finding a spot for your family's Eden.

Thanks, John. I'll definitely be checking out both of those forums.

Whatever. Here's a tiny ad:
