So I was just poking around on my profile settings, and I noticed that under "My Profile > Site Personalization" there is an option for "Hide the farmer because my boss doesn't like him." I tried checking it to see what it would do, but I don't see any consistent effects from it (though I am now sometimes seeing a link to permies.com at the top left of the page - instead of the usual sunflower or scythe graphic - the text of which says "Moose hidden" [but I'm also seeing that text occasionally even after I uncheck that box and submit my new preferences]). Does this button still have any meaning since the Permies header got redesigned to remove the farmer holding carrots and replace it with the rotating sun/sunflower or the scythe harvesting the text of permies.com?

The farmer still appears on my cell phone. I hate it when someone who I'm paying messes with their phone every two minutes.

Thanks, Dale, that answers my question. I get what you mean about people messing with their phones every two minutes - I've worked with a few of those people, and it annoys me even when I'm not the one paying them (whether there's a farmer or not!).

So there I was, trapped in the jungle. And at the last minute, I was saved by this tiny ad:
