I'm looking for a roommate if someone wouldn't mind living in Jump River, WI, http://www.jumpriverwisconsin.com/. Very remote town full of farmers and community oriented people. If you are good with kids (I have custody of my two youngest Monday thru Thurs.) and wouldn't mind helping me set up a garden etc. on a property I will be renting (there is a guy in town who can bring his tractor over and till the garden for me and that same person we can learn how to collect and process maple syrup with next year). There is a room downstairs in the basement and we could share the kitchen, living areas and bathroom. I have sheep and ducks and will be adding to my herd/flock and I will be purchasing pigs, possibly breeding pigs if I have help. The place I will be renting is surrounded by land with crops or beef cattle in the fields. It has a very nice barn that the owner says he can put water out to. There is also a garage. There are lots of possibilities, projects we can start and I can teach someone most things, but like bees we'd have to learn together and I know there are folks in town that know things too. I want to get a winter garden started with the help of my Eliot Coleman 4 season harvest book. If you want to know more about my experience, my ad is here: https://permies.com/t/46165/WWOOF-organic-farm-volunteers-interns/Working-Farm-Live-Wisconsin and my craigslist ad with pictures: http://northernwi.craigslist.org/grd/5006627280.html

It would be nice to have someone there if I need to make a trip somewhere, like to visit my son in August for a long weekend. I'm looking to move into the place by the end of June.

If this sounds interesting to you, just PM me. Rent will be fairly cheap 1/2 utilities and $250-300/month and I'm hoping to find someone who wants to rent with me for a minimum of a year possibly longer. There are lots of farm properties as well around the area so if you fall in love with the area there is a possibility of buying later on. There are also lots of opportunities of helping the community build a community garden in town and farmstand. It's a very exciting opportunity for all around!!

Hello! My name is Kristen and I'm very interested if you haven't found one yet. My only question would be if you know any job spots in the area if I were to move there.
(In order to pay my share of the rent) It sounds lovely, you can email me at kristentabor@rocketmail.com

I sent my email for world dommination and permie stuff, are you suggesting I find a place by reading it? (looking into it)

Wow, you both are well rounded and ready to go. I wish you all the best. The farm I am moving on will only have 5 acres available and will really only fit one person as a roommate. You will find what you are looking for. I wish you both well.

It was a tommy gun. And now this tiny ad insists on being addressed as "Tommy":
