Hello Permies,
We are looking for the optimal
water pump solution for our situation.
We are entering the construction phase of our shed and house and hope to be connected to the electric grid soon.
Water would optimally be installed soon after so that we have everything at site and don't have to run down and up again with buckets of water.
There is a stream below our house that is about 9 meters lower at a distance of about 80 meters.
The stream has usually a calm flow but can turn into a roaring rush about almost 1 meter higher, capable of moving large rocks/boulders during heavy subtropical rainstorms.
The rate of the flow we haven't measured but it can fill a few big buckets per minute for sure.
It is accessible by other persons and therefor we have to include possible theft or vandalism into our plan.
There is a cobble stone road between our property and the stream but we can run tubes and cables underneath it without any problem.
The water will be used for construction purposes like making cement and later for household uses, showers and irrigation.
We have the following questions:
1. What type of pump would suit our situation best?
2. The best place to install the pump and tubes?
3. When and how to operate the pump?
4. How to protect against theft or vandalism?
5. What type of filter to install?
