#1 Looks like a legume, pretty small. It's creating a ground cover in a rock garden.

#2 The flowers remind me of False Garlic, but they have more petals than other native alliums I've seen. I kind of forgot the foliage for this one! Sorry!

alright, so on #2 I checked it out again and it is definitely sporting Thistle-like leaves. So I'm thinking Asteraceae.

#1 kind of looks like something in the Strophostyles family, maybe Strophostyles helvola? they are a legume.
I'm not too sure as i just used google image search and used your photo's url and found images that look like it.

It would be helpful to see the plant's leaves to make an ID.
