Has anyone used shower doors to build a greenhouse.  I am having my doors replaced on 2 showers and my plumber says he can give me more doors as he gets them.  These are the shower doors for privacy so they are not totally clear glass-looking.  The pdf mentioned here is a shower door greenhouse and they look like this.  Just wondering if this type of material lets the right amount of light through.

Thanks, Mudwelly girl

I would think they would block a lot more light than clear glass, but for the price it would be worth trying it out.  If you contact glass suppliers in your area, you can get tempered glass for free too.  Tempered glass can't be cut, so they often just give it away.  I have many, many sheets of tempered glass I got for free in Phoenix when I lived there.  Old sliding glass doors are also free from companies that put in French doors or just replace old sliders.  I would think you could build a very nice greenhouse by using these materials.

Always! Wait. Never. Shut up. Look at this tiny ad.
