Howdy,
I'm moving to eastern NC in July and was looking for any information about the area. Any permies out by Raleigh, any workshops in that area, or any helpful information from anyone. Thanks in advance. Prost!

Greensboro has an active permaculture group.  UNC-G offers a course and there is an organized group there, Greensboro Permaculture Guild. It's not Raleigh, but close.

Check out this guy who is affiliated with NC State Univ.

He has collaborated with Charlie Heddington in Greensboro who teaches permaculture and leads the Permaculture Guild (Facebook) but we're about 1.5 hrs east of Raleigh, and 4 hrs to the coast.  There's a hotbed of permies and organic farmers in central NC (what we call the Piedmont from Winston-Salem to  Durham and Chapel Hill, Pittsboro, Raleigh) etc.   You don't say how far east you'll be so I don't know what's over there.   I think for the most part it's still mostly large "traditional" agriculture.     There are some Meetups for permaculture, sustainable and organic gardening so search them for specific locations.    Welcome to the southeast y'all :)

Thanks for that link. I'm actually going to be in Wayne County. I'm originally from North Carolina though, near Asheville, but I appreciate the hospitality and information.

This will take every ounce of my mental strength! All for a tiny ad:
the permaculture bootcamp in winter (plus half-assed holidays)
