I recently got an idea to test the market for a basic, empty shipping container rental for weekend, occasional use.
I have located it in a quiet corner of my 20 acre property, immediately adjacent to a Forest track.
Mobile reception is not possible, I suggested a place to chill out and rest.
I am in the middle of a very large forest and have no neighbours.
I will supply cold
water and a camp fire area, and no access to the rest of my property.
There are abundant flowers, kangaroos, walking and cycling tracks around.
Nothing else, is promised or offered. Rent $1100 per 12 months
In 2 weeks I had 500 'reads' and 25 contacted me.
I made a choice after discussions and have a very happy tenant.
We have written rules, no crowds, loud music, no motorcycle or go carts.
No full time living, no chopping
trees down for
wood, no access to the rest of my
land.
These issues arose during discussions
I had the container, and it cost $100 to move it into place.
One could say, ' money for old rope'.
I hope it inspires others, but please don't talk about the downsides, I am not interested in the opinions of naysayers, and if you choose wisely problems are eliminated.
