well the east coast has had an earthquake..i know for you westerners this is not a big deal, but i guess for Wash d c it is..they say that the wash monument is sl tilting..that might be just a rumor..but they are evac everything..

guess it was felt in Mich and Canada, but I didn't feel it here..nothing to worry about here if we have an earthquake, no big buildings to land on our heads

Yes it is pretty unusual here.
Now this week-end we are scheduled to (possibly) have a Cat 3 hurricane - also very unusual.

An article links fracking to the earthquake:
http://blogs.alternet.org/refugee/2011/08/23/did-fracking-cause-the-virginia-earthquake/

I haven't read it yet, but the idea is intriguing.

I live in a quake zone. The government is constantly running ads saying that we need to have an earthquake preparedness plan.

My plan in the event of an earthquake is to call every excavation company and dump truck outfit and get them to dump mountains of red bricks on my property when they come tumbling down. 1 acre covered 5 feet deep equals approximately $500,000 worth of used brick at current prices.  I don't think this is what the government had in mind when they told me to prepare

I actually had a premonition that we were going to have an earthquake during my drive home from work that morning but I dismissed it along with the other stupid stuff that runs through my head ever day.

Went to bed all day and on the drive back to work found out that we had an earthquake.

My husband says I should start writing this stuff down when I think about it - can't do that.  If I wrote down every thing that popped in my head during the day some one would probably put me in a straight jacket.
