I would say its a rooster tho you can get macho hens and girly roosters, I had a hen that took the role as left without a rooster they need a boss if you see what I mean. Also as previously said the comb and wattles are way too big for a young hen.

Wow a cob greenhouse would be awesome ... build it, you could use straw bale too that would be warm and cosy for your seedlings.

Terri do you have short days in the fall and winter where you are? We are in Ireland and we do so I was going to think about rigging up led lighting for a few hours a day, maybe 12 volt with a small wind turbine and car battery.......

Oh I plan to plant a whole load of things I get the kids involved too so they can choose some stuff  I may plant early potatoes in one half the first year and see how that works out for the soil.
