I am new to growing mushrooms. I made 10lb blocks of masters mix in unicorn bags and inoculated with a 10% ratio of blue oyster grain spawn and rolled/shook bag to evenly distribute spawn throughout the entire bag. Bags are stored in a spare room in low to mid 70's temp. After a week I see very good colonization on only the top quarter of the bag, none on the lower portion of the bag. I also see a lot of yellowish orange liquid collecting on the colonized portion of the bags. Is the colored liquid normal or is there a problem with the blocks? Why is only the top half of the bag colonizing when the spawn was evenly distributed? Thanks in advance for any advise or explanation.
