Hey friends, my swimming pool has been without chemicals and filtration for several years. The county gave me mosquito eating fish. There is muck at the bottom and algae on the sides. I want to create a filtration system using “tubs” along side the pool, (instead of digging up around the pool for “natural pool” filtration), sending
water from the pool through gravel/clay balls and plants in the tubs, then through a uv light to kill bacteria. I probably won’t keep the fish if I no longer need them. Water will oxygenate water going back into the pool in a waterfall kind of way, aerator is an additional option. Water will be clear and unheated except from air and sun, pool is mostly shaded. I’m in Marin county, Northern California. This kind of conversion seems to me an obvious thing, something someone could make a business of. I want to do it for my own pool, not as a business, but I need help with the logistics. Can anyone please help me with ideas of how I can go about doing this? Does anyone want to help me in person?
