Just found your website and it's great. I inherited my grandmother's Griswold Dutch Oven and want to start using it. It has been over 25 years since it was last used so I seasoned it inside and out according to directions I found online. Now I am nervous about using it. There is oil on the outside of the pan. If I use it on the stovetop is that a fire hazard? What can you tell me? Thanks!

You should wipe the pan with a white paper towel or cloth to remove any oil on the surface of the pan. The important oil has settled into the metal. Heating the pan bakes the surface, but it won't ignite.
