I have read about naturally occuring patterns that really work well in permaculture design, for example the Herb Spiral and also planting in multiple wave shapes rather than straight lines.

Some of the reasons for this are obvious, increasing surface area for planting and gaining more area by raising the planting field. I have also read about certain trees that do better in planted in circles, etc.

But there are far far more, patterns that we can do on small scales and large scales and are very relavant to us all, no matter what we are intending to achieve.

I would like it if people could perhaps put there experiences of this in here, so we can discuss firstly what patterns that are out there, and secondly how do these patterns help us get the maximum out of our designs.
Have any of you guys tried and of these Patterns? and what results have you had?

There are many commonly occurring patterns in nature. And then there is the random pattern. I would think something like seed balls would create the random pattern. Let Mother Nature make the decision as to which pattern she chooses for your selection of seeds. It won't be "wrong".

I remember before the flying monkeys became such an invasive species. We had tiny ads then.
