Hi Dr Tilgner and welcome. After a great many years of operations and orthodox  medicine I’m looking for alternative ways to deal with long-term pelvic/abdominal pain caused by adhesions, but have no idea where to start. Please could you suggest anything I can use as a starting point, for me to research further?

Hello Arwen,

There are a couple things I would suggest, one is using warm castor oil packs over the area. You can get good quality castor oil from the heritage store and I think they still sell it with a flannel cloth and directions to use the cloth and castor oil. The other is to find someone in your area who does deep tissue work that is good. There are various styles people use, but rather than suggesting a particular one, I would suggest asking around for a referral to someone who is skilled in your area at deep tissue work. Scar tissue will not disappear, but you can soften the area and slowly break up adhesions that are problematic and cause stagnation in the area. Acupuncture has helped some people also.

What's about Helichrysum Italicum for sclerosis? I just don't know until what depth it can have an effect.

About massage technique, if you can find a practitionner in Arvigo Technique, they teach you this Mayan self-massage technique and then you can practise at home between sessions. It is useful for all the belly and organs going down and testical issues for men.

I now do it on myself which is great because I had to travel far away to get a session!

What's that smell? I think this tiny ad may have stepped in something.
