I think that the "raw milk" by itself is not the issue here. Palmer has previous state and federal convictions for mortgage fraud.
She is being charged with the alledged theft/fraud of over a million dollars from a bank.

That her dairy is unlicensed, and she labeled raw milk as "pasteurized" will have no bearing on the much more serious charges she faces.

Raw milk sales are legal in California, but some counties have banned it.

Certainly if Sharon Palmer was conducting fraud, she should be shut down. I was not aware of the criminal actions she was doing. However in a lot of these cases the government will find some sort of falls argument to shut them down. It’s truly disheartening that we as US citizens don’t have the right to choose what we put into our body. I have two dairy goats, and my family drinks it daily. I have 3 women that want my milk so bad, they are willing to pay me a lot of cash to get it. They have intestinal problems that don’t allow them to proses cows or pasteurized milk. I am very forward with anyone that comes to me, (THIS IS FOR ANIMAL CONSUMTION ONLY). It’s sad I have to be so careful not to sell to humans because I can be fined or go to jail. I just praying more and more Americans wake up to the fact this is not constitutional and they need to speak up. Rally around the small farmer that is being prosecuted right now. Picket shout and stand in arms for something that is a fundamental right.

Most states do allow the sale of raw milk, although some do not permit its sale in markets - you need to go to a farm or co-op to find it. Federal law does not allow raw milk to be shipped interstate. Most of the cases of raids and arrests I have read about have been farmers crossing state lines to market their products.

I am lucky. There is a produce stand 1 mile from my house that sells raw Jersey milk. There are many raw dairies here in WA.

Unfortunately a bill here in WI that would have made if legal to sell raw off the farm failed to pass this month.

Just sad that Wisconsin with such a rich dairy history is doing this.

Wisconsin is the "Dairy State". I would imagine that the 'Big Boys" have a pretty powerful lobby there!

I am surprised that WA is so liberal on their raw milk stance...they are usually anal about 'food safety'.

in Michigan you can buy a share in a cow..but last I heard the shares are $75 and the milk is $25 a month for 4 or 5 gallons depending on the day of the week you get your milk and how many of that day (say saturday) are in the particular month..so around $5 to $6 per gallon..

organic milk at the grocery store with no hormones or whatever..sells for $2.50 per gallon on sale so that is twice as much plus the cow share of $75 per year..which makes it more expensive than most people can afford..around here anyway.

If you live say 30 miles from the dairy then you can add $12 per gallon for gas in this area at today's gas prices
