Self-catering gem in Uruguay, South America - The dream of living in harmony with nature.

Originally a neglected pasture with few trees, we have transformed 47 hectares of land into a self-sufficient paradise through more than a decade of full dedication, creating a habitat for people, animals and plants that is absolutely unique and has no equal.

Many thousands of trees have been planted, a large part of the fruit and nut trees are already bearing fruit and the commercial forest produces far more wood than is needed for its own use, hence the possibility of using part of the production commercially.

One of the special features of this estate is the humus layer that has formed over many years, the fertility of which enables the residents to cultivate any plant species that the climatic zone allows for both self-sufficiency and commercial purposes.

Ponds were created and many different microclimate zones were created, which also allow tropical plant species such as bananas and avocados to thrive without any problems.

The biodiversity and the existing genetic material in perfectly adapted edible plants is another specialty.

The main house was built according to our own plans and stands out from the usual buildings in Uruguay. There is a swimming pool, a small sauna, a winter garden and guest quarters.
In the garden at the back of the main house over 100 banana trees are planted and there is a place for barbecuing and relaxing in a wonderful atmosphere.

In addition to the garage with workshop, there is also a large shelter for agricultural machinery and a cold room for storing fruit and vegetables.

Different varieties of the individual species were deliberately chosen for the tree planting in order to maximize the time window for harvesting.

Among other things, the following trees were planted:
Olives (current capacity is sufficient for 750 l olive oil)
Figs
Pomegranates
Lemons
Oranges
Mandarins
Grapefruits
Kumquat
Persimmon
Apples
Pears
Plums
Guavas
walnut
Pecan

The three greenhouses imported from Germany allow year-round use and open up further possibilities for the cultivation of special crops.

There are beehives, a mushroom growing station, chickens and stables for three horses.

In addition, there is a considerable population of eucalyptus trees, acacias, cassuarines, pines, oaks and poplars.
The eastern border of the property is determined by a stream that carries water all year round.

If you are genuinely interested in buying, please contact us directly to find out more details.

Here is a little youtube video we made to present our place:

Hello,

My husband and I will be visiting Uruguay at the end of this month.  We would like to know if this property is still available and, if so, to make arrangements to see it.  Please contact me at dona@dnbhome.com so that we can arrange a time.

Muchas Gracias!
Dona Marie Hippert
