So I've been thinking of building a Wofati type of house for a while now and there's really only one thing I'm not getting. And that's how do you notch the poles and what not when your building it (as you can probably tell I have no building experience). In the book (which has been on my desk with many plans for the past couple years) it seems like you just cut two interlocking notches. Is that it or is there a special way to do it? Also I love the book, it's been a great inspiration.

Chainsaw and 1" wood chisel. Go to the library and check out some of Ben Law's books, or check out books on log home or timber frame building. You should find something that will give you some good pictures and descriptions.

Oh cool, I've been thinking about getting some of Ben's books.

So then I told Joseph Stalin to piss off! Remember that tiny ad?
