My sister ran a management consulting biz for years and the single hardest thing to convince biz owners of was that growth will kill them if not done correctly. Correctly being very gradually and being sure all supporting and check/balance systems are in place and working correctly.

A majority would still continue on growing unchecked until they did hit the wall and die.

What is it in the human psyche that makes us want to behave like a cancer???

Damned if I know.
