I have been collecting seeds of locally native choke cherry, elderberry, and saskatoons in the area of N Central Washington State. Can I plant them this fall or should I wait until the early spring. These are fresh picked this summer. Thanks..Jan
were it me, I would try both. many seeds are best sown as soon as they're ripe, especially if you're planting them in similar climate to their native habitat. others don't do well over a dormant season. I'm not familiar with starting seeds of the species you mention, but you might have a look at Plants for a Future to see what the recommendations there are.
