Hello there. I'm looking for more heirloom crops from the French, German and Dutch settlers in America centuries ago, because I'm growing a rematriation garden this year to honor my community's history and culture. One of the crops I'm looking for is the early scarlet horn carrot which has been with the Dutch since the 1600s, and want to grow them this year, more of them because of their sweet flavor. I want to concentrate on those from the American Great Lakes first, beginning from Quebec, down to Illinois country along the Mississippi River until 1763 after the French had settled. I'm looking also looking crops that have been shared with Native Americans from the late 1600s to 1763 where the French resided. Please be welcome to send me some feedback, questions or anything you got to make this topic as productive as possible. Have a lovely day!
