Hey!
I just joined this forum and wanted to throw out some tentacles.

I have always been interested in being self sufficient. I grew up in Sweden. My grandfather was a dairy farmer/cheese manufacturer and that farm was the happiest place in my life. The cows, pigs, horses and sheep. My love for animals runs deep.

Mom was a home economics teacher and we only ate home made food, breads, jams etc when I was a kid. She taught me a lot (still does 🙂).

I’m very interested in cooking, nutrition, animal husbandry and being independent. I take pride in keeping my home clean and in order. I’m house wife material except for the sowing…never mastered that skill.  I’m a home body and enjoy spending time with my dogs and chickens. They all have such personalities!  I’m a beginner gardener though but have managed to harvest some great kale, potatoes and strawberries last season.

Although I would love to find my soulmate, I’d be happy to find a good partner to share life with. It doesn’t have to be romantic.  Build our own world together. I know how to keep a house but I don’t know how to fix an engine or build a shed. I’m looking for my counterpart. I do feel that I have a lot to offer.

I don’t have a lot of money set aside, but I have some. I currently work full time in an office. I’m looking to get out of my current situation, where I have a house in the PNW with an alcoholic. (Yea- I don’t drink a whole lot).
To me it sounds like a nightmare to sell the house and move into an apartment. Away from all the things I love. Basically live in a cubicle.  I don’t have the other half of the skills needed, or funds to make it on my own (and it would be terribly lonely), so I thought I’d put out some feelers here amongst likeminded people. I am not tied to this area, other than that my job is here.

I just turned 50 but I still feel 30. I currently work full time, take care of the house myself, all the cooking from scratch, cleaning, taking care of the chickens,  walking of dogs daily etc on my own. I am unvaxxed and intend to stay that way. I want less government in my life, thank you. My email: loopin4fun@gmail.com

Hope you all have a blessed weekend 🙂

I have lived in your situation.
Al-Anon is a self help group that may help you as the non alcoholic, it helped me a lot.
Otherwise I hope your circumstances improve.

Good afternoon, my name is Judiah, I like what you wrote and the goals you have and dreams you want to make true! I’m forming my own plans for purchasing land and living off the grid as much as possible as well!

Im located out here in Virginia where there is a lot of affordable land in the urban country areas right outside of the larger cities. I was looking at either New Kent or Mathews county, New Kent is right outside of Williamsburg Virginia and Mathews is right above Gloucester. I live in the historic Yorktown area, I’m divorced and would love to have a quiet peaceful homestead out in an urban area.

We need to talk.  What are your thoughts on living in Northern California?  If you want to chat on the phone, my number is 916-205-5352.  Stay Blessed.  By the way, I very rarely drink a cocktail or wine.  My family were original settlers in the Folsom and Sacrameto area.  Harry
