Does anyone know of a good resource that lists trees, shrubs, perennials, etc and lists their general rooting patterns: taproot, heart root, etc?

I can't say I know of any resources that list general rooting patterns in the way you're looking for, but I know there are lists of urban trees that breaks down the likelyhood of infrastructure (sidewalks, foundations, etc.) damage. Let me know if you're interested and I'll see what I can drag up.

Michael, I'm looking more in to trees and shrubs that I would use in a food forest. I don't know if urban trees would apply and I don't want to make you drag something up that might not apply
