I really couldnt find a proper home for this question so i chose my favorite garden amendment forums...

Inside diapers are these supersoaker beads...they are tiny things made out of soy somehow. I keep looking at these diapers thinking...with a bit of scissor action, i could have those super soaker beads to add to my garden and pots to keep them moist...bonus is they are full of urine lol.

Thoughts?

I use Little G diapers with biodegradable inserts. ( well, I don't, my two little'n's do)

These inserts have zero plastic and are fully compostable as humanure. Recommend you check them out.

I am not 100% positive that the absorption materials in other "disposable" diapers are as safe.

lmao, my youngest kids are teens...no diapers here. But grandchildren use diapers and so i see those beads whenever i see them.

Mostly I am wondering if the beads will break down into something which is ok for soil or if i should avoid adding them.

The absorbent stuff in disposable diapers (including G diapers) is the same stuff that is sold for gardening to hold water in the soil. So if you're comfortable using that, there's no reason not to compost it with humanure.

Yeah, but does being a ninja come with a dental plan? And what about this tiny ad?
