How well can you identify fiddle styles? Put this on as background music and test yourself:

Americans--can you hear when the music changes to "American old Time"? (I did, I think because my Dad was always watching Ken Burns' Civil War documentary while I was growing up!) Perhaps you recognize the other American styles, too. Irish and Scottish folks, you are going to be the best at recognizing the differences in these, I am sure. Canadians, Swedes, and Brits--I didn't even know y'all had a fiddle tradition before, my apologies. This 20 minutes is such fun--this fellow is really talented!
