One of the things I asked for and received this week is my best book.
It is a Reader's Digest "Back To Basics".  I have had it for 20 years.  My father gave it to me.

Anyone else have it?  It is not an authority on anything, it is an old book, but will give anyone a short course in anything a Permie needs to know...

well that might be just a bit of an exaggeration but it does cover evry kind of farm animal, land use , trees, issues, ponds, canning, wind and water power, grapes and gardening...on and on...building a house...

I have "Gaia's Garden" and "Zone 5 Gardening" coming on ILL.  Thank you all for the suggestions.

actually found myself with 2 copies recently when MIL died and i got some of her books...can't remember if i sent the spare off to charity or not yet.

my favorite, of which I have 2 copies for the same reason, is Oranic farming and gardening book by rodale..it is such a good book.

of course I have floor to ceiling bookshelves in 2 rooms and other book shelves in 3 other rooms and all are crammed with books..as i'm an addict..so i have a lot of favorites

Maybe gift it to someone here on the forum...like a contest prize?  If you still have it.

I used to have it.  It is a great book!  I wouldn't mind having a copy of the book again!
