Are you interested in farming, permaculture, and ecology? Do you need access to land? Our family of four is looking for an ecologically focused family to join us on our homestead. Our hope would be that at least one of your family members would be focused on the implementation of a permaculture system/farm; that is, they would be making a living via this practice (only necessary to “make a living” if there is no other family member generating income). This person would have a fair amount of autonomy with respect to implementing their ideas. There are several areas of land that are either already being used for gardens or available for use.

The land consists of 60 acres, mostly forested, and a four-acre lake. The terrain is hilly and located on the Georgia fall line (where the piedmonts meet the coastal plain). We are secluded, yet only have a 15-minute drive into a small college town. There is currently a 38’ RV (both sides pop out) with an outdoor kitchenette available to rent (area is hooked up to the power grid). In the future, there is potential for moving out of the RV and renting a second house located on the property.

While not required, it would be ideal if occasional communal activities could be shared, such as child rearing activities, projects, or dinners. While finding a family would be ideal, we are open to individuals, as well as couples.

Please do not respond if you are looking for a place to freeload. Any person or family will have to meet with us (online and/or in person) several times before the terms of the arrangement can be agreed upon between all parties. We are very excited to have people join us and we look forward to hearing from you!

All the best,

Luke

Hello Luke!
My name is Mary Billups
I'm interested in chatting with you about having myself,  my youngest daughter, her young son, & her boyfriend helping out. They're in their 20s, & her son isn't yet 10.

They're looking for something like this & I've been looking off & on for several years.
They're wanting to learn new skills, while I'm wanting to have the opportunity to share my seeds, grow gardens & possibly have some chickens, etc...
My email: grandbillups@gmail.com
My #: 812-557-0769.
Thank you,  Mary.

Hello Luke.

My name is Katie Surgent and I am mama of a family of 5 in Southwestern VA. My littles are 9, 5 and 2. My husband and I bought land about a year ago and have been working on making a small, off-grid homestead since. I am looking for a way to do this with another family (or families) because I feel there could be so much synergy and joy in working side-by-side with others on so much of our day-to-day work.

If you are still looking for potential folks, my email is ksurgent@protonmaildotcom.

Katie
