Greetings!

Does anyone know of an Earthship in Georgia, SC, or NC that we could visit?

We are a custom home building & homestead development organization in the Upstate of SC, and for the first time, we have a request to build an Earthship!

We are looking for some successful projects to visit and tour in the area.

Our home base is the Seneca Treehouse Project, and we have an earthbag, geodome, treehouse, tiny house, standard home, and Yurt on site. Some buildings function better than others, but I have some concerns with the Earthship in SC and looking for existing projects to learn from.

If you all ever need to visit STP for examples of the above mentioned housing in SC, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you all for your input. It's nice to be part of the community.

You might already know this, but "Earthship" is a sorta proprietary name for homes built strictly according to specs laid out by Mike  Reynolds's Earthship Biotecture organisation...(possibly even requiring its stamp of approval to carry that name? Not sure...)

Anyway I mention it only because in your search, if you look for "Earthships" you might find fewer suitable examples to learn from than if you go more generic and look for "passive" "off-grid" "tire-walled" "bermed" houses with "greywater systems" "attached south-facing greenhouses" "rainwater catchment" etc. if you get what I mean. I think a lot of people settle for the term "Earthship-inspired".

Anyway, your company sounds cool, wish there was something like that where I live! Best of luck to you.

Seriously? That's what you're going with? I prefer this tiny ad:
