Is there anyone who has any tips out there for running an Open Space meeting?  We are going to schedule half a day of pre-programmed activities at the Upstate NY Permaculture Consulta, but would like to have the other half of the day be Open Space facilitated.  None of us doing the planning have ever facilitated an Open Space meeting so are looking for any good tips and techniques to get us started.  Thanks!

Would an open space meeting be different from, say, any gathering of people that are gonna try and do some good?

(side note:  my experience with "open space" has not been good.  It has usually devolved into something where the only people allowed onto that land are biologists that are there to count the bugs or something.  And then others want to start huge campaigns to kill all non-native species with herbicides .... still others have other plans .... it goes on and on into a quagmire of goofiness and the moment you stop being vigilant about protecting it, somebody develops it because that open space was traded for a different open space when you weren't looking ....)
